Co-Director Br Pat Howley told The National that the course was aimed primarily at the grassroots people, to assist in coming to terms with their own problems. The Peace Foundation which was established recently, has held 17 courses since July this year in Wakunai and Buin. Br Pat said these courses were made possible with the assistance from the New Zealand Government and AusAID. "We have found that after these courses, people become much better and are free of mind." This we think is very important. Br Pat added, however, that the Foundation would be holding another 10 courses over the next two months on the island. He added that this would bring the number of courses held on Bougainville to 27 by the end of this year with another 33 still to be conducted through to July next year. Br Pat added that the Peace Foundation was also holding courses on the National Capital District, with special emphasis on the settlements. He added that since April they had conducted 30 courses in various parts of the city. ================================================================= NY Transfer News Collective * A Service of Blythe Systems Since 1985 - Information for the Rest of Us 339 Lafayette St., New York, NY 10012 http://www.blythe.org e-mail: nyt@blythe.org ================================================================= nytpac-11.14.97-23:53:37-31765
